This piece was inspired by the Lower Kananaskis Lake in the Rocky Mountains in springtime, as it had been drained before the melted mountain snow came rushing in. There were mysterious slashes in the soil that intrigued me. Empty "lakes" like this may become more common if we can't reverse what we've done to our environment.
