64" x 38", fibre, 2004, SOLD Big Sky Country was inspired by the beauty of the skies that are so important to Albertans.  We depend on what comes from them, be it rain or snow. We check with them often to see what we should wear for the day. They constantly change so we can never be bored. I have hand-dyed and painted silk velvet, cotton, and silk yardage to layer richness together with colour in this large piece. The fabric was cut into pieces and overlapped to show the ever-changing nature of the air above us.
