A Hole of My Own

Some tiny holes in the ground at the side of the road caught my eye, homes of some kind of insect. Each hole was surrounded by a perfectly symmetric round hill, only about .5 cm high, and it seemed to me that each hole must be for an individual, much as our homes are for single family units only. It seems so lonely, each unit on its own, looking after itself. Hand-dyed fabric, machine and hand embroidered, textured threads and yarns."
